Where and when we sail
The Torbay Model Yacht club is fortunate to have access to two sailing venues. The choice of venue is dependent on the time of year. We are always on the lookout for additional sailing venues in our area.
Young’s Park, Paignton
November – March
The Torbay Model Yacht club has use of the boating lake at Young’s Park from November to March, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, for DF95 racing, Thursdays for free sailing and Sunday afternoons for free sailing. Sailing times vary but usually start at 10:00 each day.
A full calendar will be available with timings from November.
Galmpton Creek, Brixham
April – October
The Torbay Model Yacht club has use of Galmpton Creek throughout the year, but is is mainly used as a summer location. The Creek is tidal and this will impact on the sailing times. Times of sailing are dependant on tides. Usually 2 hours either side of high water at Galmpton.
